Episode 115 History of CIA and Covert Operations Part 1 Published Aug 28, 2022
Episode 115 is live! Episode 115 is the first episode of a series of quasi history lessons as we begin to explore the forces that were shaping the world in that era of the twentieth century. We start first with the origins of the CIA and the history of covert operations, since they will eventually play an important role in this story. In short order, we will begin to discuss the Cuban circumstance whose politics, geography, and economic circumstances would eventually collide and create an epicenter of geopolitical consequences. Consequences that would eventually intersect in a crescendo right at the moment that JFK was coming to the Presidency. Understanding the leadup and history of the various players who involved themselves in the Cuban story ,including the CIA, is critical to this part of the journey that is JFK the Enduring Secret. Enjoy! Jeff
I couldn’t finish this episode. It was horrible. Playing the “Timeline” episode with its dramatization, frequent transitions, and disturbing background music appears inappropriate and it’s a huge break from your normal, extremely pleasant format and narration style. Please stop and return to the basics.
Hi Christian,
Sorry that you thought it was horrible. Historically, I thought it was reasonably accurate and it was put together using what I thought to be an concise but a very effective summary of the facts. Definitely represented an old style approach to delivering the message. I am glad you like my delivery style better than when we use outside material on episodes like that. Hope you keep listening.
